I didn't hear you say that. What kind of truck is it and why do you want to do that?

Re: Speedometer help....Is this legal?
I've done it on my own vehicles after a rebuild. Easy way to keep track of mileage for maintenance, etc. Besides, the OD is exempt by now anyway. You have to take the speedometer apart, carefully. Pull out the odometer assembly. There is a plastic strip with holes in it that lines up the numbers. Set it all on zero, put the strip back in place, and re-assemble. If everything isn't in place the odometer won't turn. Then take it back apart and figure out what you did wrong. If you have some mechanical ability you can do it.

Re: Speedometer help....Is this legal?
You can also put a drill motor on the speedo cable and run it FORWARD to zero.
But it can be time consuming if you need to turn over a bunch of miles.

Re: Speedometer help....Is this legal?
it is perfectly legal, as long as you do not try to profit off of it, and full disclosure of the previouse miles is required upon request (state, insurance, prospective buyer) I placed a sticker in my glove box of the longhorn that states Odometer rolled to 00000 at xx,xxx miles.
I clearified this at the BMV when i titled it. |

You could use a set of jackstands under the rear end and a brick on the gas pedal.
Didn't it work for Ferris Bueller. Jason |

Re: Speedometer help....Is this legal?
When I was a (dumb) kid I tried the old drill motor trick on the advice of another kid.Took ages and from then on the speedo wouldn't read right.
