that thing is very sweet, but why does it have a brake pedal for a stick? I thought the automatics always had the the wide brake pedal?

Re: Frank's next truck?

WOW, that thing is awesome. It looks to be a very rare truck, it's a custom deluxe with a/c, cargo lamp, no headliner and manual windows/locks. It's not too often that i've seen an inline six with an automatic and a/c.
I wish the frame on my '86 looked like that too.

I think that is the angle of how the picture was taken.

That is a sweet ride!

That is a narrow pedal . It has that because it has manual brakes. The black 78 I had was a manual brake truck with a narrow brake pedal . Frank

Nice truck!

Looks like it's been painted under the hood though. Thats the only thing that doesn't look all original to me, but none the less, still a nice truck and I wouldn't mind driving it.

To the right person, that is definitely a 10k truck, but in reality it may be a hard sell for 10k. It's a 6 cyl, has what some people call an "ol-fogey" paint scheme, its a very low trim model, and while the mileage is nice, it's not spectacular. But to the right person, it's worth a lot. For example, a guy saw my truck at a car show and it was the EXACT SAME truck he bought for new back in 78. Needless to say we're in talks.

That being said, I would definitely like to add this one to the garage! The tan 6cyl truck has a ton of character and "the look." It's all farm truck, I love it.

btw that is not my truck, just a just one I found on c/l for a few thousand. Thought someone would be intersted because of te beige and white one.

Funny thing though, I drive my 454 more than my 86 w/ the 350, so I've been thinking about selling it, since it just sitting and collecting dust since it was painted.

Doesnt look fishy to me . The truck does have disc brakes just not power disc brakes . My 78 was setup like that one and the pedal said Disc Brakes just like that one . I read his ad and he states disc brakes but not power assisted brakes . I guess he could be a little more clear about the brakes . When I sold my 78 , I stated that it had disc brakes but not power assisted brakes . The guy that bought mine also got a NOS brake booster I had bought since I was going to convert it . I still wish I wouldnt have sold that one but Oh well . Frank

Re: Frank's next truck?

Kurt pretty much summed it up. At 10k, it's high for what it is. If it were a high optioned truck with a popular color combo it would be there for sure. In this case it's a super clean survivor, but you would have to "upgrade" it quiet a bit to really enjoy it.

Re: Frank's next truck?

yea you guys are right. i think that it could be worth that or atleast close to it. i would really love to have that, i just can't afford it right now. man that is just down right unfair!!! (lol). i did mis-speak it does not say power brakes. i agree about the look, i think that is what i really like about it - the nice clean farm or tool'n around truck. anyways i just wish i could get it.... oohh well. i should have never got rid of my '79 from my h.s. years!!

I like it too and would love to have this truck, but I said that because how many people build up or restore a truck and then make a conscious decision to paint it pale tan over a mix of light browns and taupes for the interior? Maybe the color scheme was awesome in the late 70's, but colors like silver, red, black, and white tend to have more power and "timelessness" on the marketplace. The average guy is probably not going to even look at this ad based off of color, and there goes a significant chunk of the potential buyer pool... and that's a shame because it's a sweet truck.

I thought the engines were painted blue in 1977. Also, the firewall seems to be painted over and I bet the rallies were added later.
