Electric Fan and Transmission Cooler Mounting
Need some advice. I am going to continue to run a regular fan with clutch in my truck BUT want to also running an electric fan. In addition, I'm going to install a transmission cooler. They both fit in front of the grill but I like the way it looks - unbalanced. Will I be able to run the electric fat centered in front of the radiator and the transmission cooler centered on the inside of the radiator in front of the clutch fan? Not really sure how all of that works out.
The electric fan will be on an auxiliary switch and probably only used as a backup if the temp rises. Your thoughts? Thanks, Harry

Re: Electric Fan and Transmission Cooler Mounting
I think that if your are going to keep using a clutch fan, then the electric fan will only inhibbet the air flow through the radiator. WES

Re: Electric Fan and Transmission Cooler Mounting
Good Point Wes. As for the transmission cooler, centered or offset and which side of the radiator do you suggest? Thanks, Harry

Re: Electric Fan and Transmission Cooler Mounting
I always run the tranny cooler on the right side of the radiator. No particular reason, just because the cooling lines are routed that way. WES

Re: Electric Fan and Transmission Cooler Mounting
Ditch the clutch fan and go with the electric--get one big enough for your needs. I changed out the fans on two of my trucks and gained some MPG and smoother idles. The tranny coolers on my trucks are on the front side of the radiator in the lower right corner. I chose ther, because it is close to where I tapped into the radiator cooler connection.

Re: Electric Fan and Transmission Cooler Mounting
I agree with the electrics, that is why we manufacture a kit for the 67-72s and now Delorians. Lots smoother and quicker RPMs too. WES
