Underhood treatment
My hood top vibrates a bit and looks kinda dingy when opened. What is the best thing to glue underneath the hood to cut vibration/sound and yet looks decent?

Re: Underhood treatment
For the vibration replace your cushions between your braces and the hood. I have these but haven't installed them yet:

Re: Underhood treatment
Used this on mine......slid it under the braces and used hi temp spray adhesive. Made a huge difference and also shields hood from engine heat. This is the typical stuff that comes in rolls and I also used it under the carpet in the cab.

Re: Underhood treatment
Be extremely careful when replacing the pads under the braces to insure you don't damage the hood. As you know you have to pry the braces from the hood to remove and insert the padding. Use an extra wide wedge of some kind.

Re: Underhood treatment
I bought the hood sponges from LMC , but they just fall out. It's like they're not thick enough to fit tight. Not a lot, but enough to fall out. Should I glue them in place?

Re: Underhood treatment
Nice SactoJim. How has it held up in the heat? Which brand of glue did you use?

Re: Underhood treatment
Picked some up at a Goodguys show and then go some more at a local speed shop. Also have seen similar on Ebay (single foil sided).

Gone about 800 miles and it's stuck just as good as the day I installed it. I really like the quality "thud" sound the hood makes now when I close it.

Re: Underhood treatment
If you are oing to glue the hood to the braces use Urethane windhsield sealer and then clean the edges up before it sets up. It will hold for a long time.
