My Coy's wheels finally came yesterday...
Well, my Coy's came yesterday! I'm supposed to pick my engine up in the morning also! I ordered the polished 17X8 C5's with 275/40/17 tires.
I have mixed feelings on my new wheels. I was not happy about the time it took to get them. The "polishing" of the wheels is not very good at all,and it will take a lot of work to get them looking like I want them to. They were also nice enough to put fine scratches all over them already. In addition, they will not fit without modification which I did not find out about until well after I ordered the wheels. The folks at Coy's were very nice though. These wheels are new,but they don't look like it. I hope my engine turns out better. |

If it was easy too have a nice car or truck everyone would have one. Not that I am saying its O.K. for things not to be perfect but its just how life is. Looking forward too seeing some pics.

I'll get some pics when I get the engine in,the truck cleaned up,and the wheels polished up. It's going to take some elbow grease to make them look good. |

If they are that badley scratched send them back. Don't wait call them get a return number and send them back.
This is why I hate buying over the computer. If it's messed up you either bite it or have to go through a bunch of crap to make it right which in the long run you end up with more money in it than just buying them local.

Re: My Coy's wheels finally came yesterday...
ya I recieved mine a couple weeks ago and I can understand the money you spent and they are not perfect. but I kinda accepted because of the price. They are very easy to work will and all, but I didn't by foose or bon speed wheels so I really cannot complain about a couple minor defects. I ordered the embosed center caps so they would fit correctly. The problem lies that I bought chrome wheels and the caps are polished. I will probably get the spacers that I have seen on here and get the original caps. Hopefully they turn out better.

Re: My Coy's wheels finally came yesterday...
When I recieved mine from Coys they came in cardboard boxes without any kind of padding on the inside and the boxes and some rough edges and torn places. The rear ones on one of the boxes the hole corner was torn open and I freaked out !!!! I checked every thing and they were visually undamaged and then checked them before I mounted the tires and were OK, They balanced out great. It appears to me that FEDEX is not the best way to ship these wheels, either that or Coys need to do some better packing. JMO.

Re: My Coy's wheels finally came yesterday...
Well,it took so long to get them that I don't have time to send them back now. The Hot Rod Power Tour is coming to Little Rock the first weekend in June, and I want to take my truck to the event. The tires I have on my truck now are dry-rotted and flat-spotted from sitting so long. I'm not buying another set of tires just for that purpose.
I think I can make them look a bunch better using my Mother's Powerball. I rubbed on them by hand with Mother's polish and got one spoke looking pretty decent. As far as the scratches, it looks like they dry-wiped the wheels or wiped them with a not very soft towel. The last set of wheels I bought for my truck was Centerline Telstars. One of them was not a shiny as the others, and it never has shined up at all. As for the center caps,I didn't know there were two different caps. I LOVE the actual design of the C5. It's one hot-looking wheel, and they're going to look good on my truck. From a distance that is! J/K. |

Re: My Coy's wheels finally came yesterday...
I don't know what either of you paid for the wheels, but it does sound significant, regardless of what you paid, why would you accept a less than perfect wheel? This sounds like a common problem, why haven't either of you sent them back or called the company?

Re: My Coy's wheels finally came yesterday...
They look similiar to the wheels in this thread which I didn't see until after I had placed my order.
If it takes two weeks to get me another set,I won't make it to the Power Tour. |

The finish on my coys is not very good either. I'll be selling them in about a year so I can get some billet specialties.

Re: My Coy's wheels finally came yesterday...
I forgot to link to this thread in my last post:
http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...ht=Coys+wheels I almost got the grey centers, but I talked myself out of them. I kinda wish I had gotten them now. They didn't have my engine finished when I went to the shop either. They did call me at about 6:30 and said they were done with it. It will all work out. |
