And yet another Noob

I have been a lurker for several months prior to getting my 66 so I wanted to formally introduce us. She was a barn find, and had sat for years without being run. I towed her home, replaced the fuel pump, cleaned the gas tank and recently had to fix the radiator.

Her specs:
87 IROC 350 TPI motor with a TH350
2.5” drop spindles with bags in the rear
Lot’s of black widows hanging on the under-carriage

Plans?
Overdrive
Fix rust
Paint

Re: And yet another Noob

Welcome from BC! Neat truck.... I'd like to see pictures of the TPI. Looks like the 5 lug conversion was already done. Does it have discs on the front?

Re: And yet another Noob

It does have disks in front. Not sure what kit is used but it has drop spindles. There is also the PS setup in there, again not sure what kit he used. I still have a lot of cleanup to do...

Here is a pic of the TPI

Re: And yet another Noob

cool project. I dig the slot mags. If I keep my 62 I`ll be looking for a set for my project. Give them a good polish and keep them on there. Looks like they fit good and you don`t see too many anymore.

Re: And yet another Noob

Thanks All,

It does looks like someone did a lot of work on it, some good some not so... I just changed the trans cross member (CPP tube one) as there was some strange unit in there and it was hitting the trans pan and causing a big leak. Had to repair the radiator and re-wire the fan so it does not corrode again. Thus far, just trying to get it running reliably before I get to rust repair, paint, and either a 5.3/4l60 swap or add a 700R4/200-4r.

I also like the old school slotted Mags so I will likely keep them.

Re: And yet another Noob

Well, it was a good day today, I got the trans cross member in and got the AC working and blowing cold and I only have 2 band aids to show for it. Next step is chasing down some electrical gremlins.
