Paint Code? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Can anyone help me with this paint code from my truck? 536ad Its from a 1966 C10, I have tried the web but not to good at it. I just want to know what the orig. color of my truck is. Im priming the truck and just wanted a feel of what color to top coat with. Any feed back or pics would be great Thanks. Chris

I checked that one nothing. I double checked the numbers and they are right from the plate under the dash. 536 AD. thanks Chris.

Your vin plate should be in the door jab at the top on the driver side.

The vin doesn't have the paint code, does it? thought it was on a tag on the driver's side kick panel

found a link showing a PPG code 536 as poppy red, but they are talking about model A's '34-'36 bout half way down on the right side linky

Ok my bad. I put in my vin and now I remeber it just tells you what it is and where it was made. I found the build sheet for mine in my seat when I tore the truck apart the first time. I put it on a piece cardboard and vaccum sealed it because it was falling apart. I know my truck was off white, so it was the original paint except for the stuff one of the owners painted on with a brush..

OKLAHOMA CHAPTER This is right thats where i found the paint code. When i take my truck apart i found a bluish green color kinda dark under everything like behind the fire wall. im just not sure if the color is faded . Chris

My '66 paint code is on the tag on the cowl.

526 would be ivory, but I'm not sure I have ever seen a 536.

Ahhh, I forgot I had a document(restoration pack) from GM I sent off for long ago. They show 536 as a two-tone dark aqua and white!

All I can say is the dark aqua must have been REALLY dark!
