1969 vin# ?
I have the # book, but still can't figure out if this vin# CE149Z------ is a swb or lwb, title says 1/2ton. Anyone know for sure? Thanks

Look at the SPID on the glove box door. I'm looking at my '69 Shop Manual and the CE says Conventional, V-8. The "1" says 3600-5600#. "49" is an issue, as is "Z". Go back and re-read the VIN on the SPID and anywhere else it appears to compare them and be sure of what you read. Not saying you are wrong, just saying that the info you have given doesn't compute according to my book.

The vin # will not tell you if it is LWB or SWB. You need the model #, the first option. For 1/2 T, 10934=LWB 10734=swb

Here is an example of a model # taken off of the SPID:CE10934
C=conventional cab E=8 cylinder 1=3900-5800 1/2 ton 09=cowl to axle dimension 54" to 59" 34=cab and fleetside pickup box This info came out of the LMC catalog. Danny |
