Flooded Evap canister?
Ok, I am lost. I have a 87 r10 350 tbi with dual tanks and last weekend was out with the wife coming back from lunch and my truck just died. After popping the hood i noticed a heavy gas smell and saw the evap canister was flooded with gas. Gas was coming out of the line marked air cleaner. I removed the line marked tank and gas was in the line. After a tow home and cooling for a while I inspected the truck and noticed the vacuum line to the egr bleed solenoid had a hole. I replaced the line and the solenoid to be safe. After attempting to empty canister I decided to change the cannister. Before installing canister I wanted to be sure it wouldnt flood again. I blew air through the line marked tank and gas came out of the driver side tank. This seemed odd since I only use the passenger side tank because I inherited the truck and for some reason was advised not to use driver side. On the advise of a friend I left the truck over night with the gas caps off to let system bleed any vacuum off. I had tried to add gas to driver side tank about a month ago and it wouldnt run. I only added about two gallons. So after blowing air through the line till nothing else came out i installed the new evap and drove it today about 10 miles and parked it and when I came out to leave it drove about a half mile and the acted like before like it was flooded when I pushed on the accelerator. If I start it it will run fine till I push gas. After I pulled over and popped the hood same thing new canister flooded with gas. It will start, idle for as long as I want but push the pedal and it starts chugging and black smoke. I did add gas but didnt top off and only in pass tank. So I removed canister plugged lines and drove home. This is the strange part. I parked truck and heard a ticking or knocking hard to describe. So I took off driver side gas cap and gas comes poring out. I pull off passenger side cap and suction bleeds out. WTF? This is not my daily driver but I though I had noticed mileage getting worse. I did recently replace oxygen sensor if it matters. I also removed fuel pressure regulator to inspect and it is intact. Help me before I blow something up.

Under the bed on the passenger side frame rail next to the gas tank.

Re: Flooded Evap canister?
Looks like you were right thank you. Bought the valve at napa had it installed at pbs charged 1 hour labor was better than laying in the drive way with gas in hair. Thanks again
