'67 Wiring Harness connectors
Ok, making serious headway on this thing and have hit a snag. I was trying to run a larger gauge wire to the HEI from the stock harness, and broke the metal terminal while trying to remove it from the bulkhead plug. I know I've seen a thread someplace that had a part number from NAPA or some parts place to get some new ones. Anyone have that info or recall where that thread might have been? I've been searching most of the night and morning and can't find anything useful.
This is the last little piece that I need so I can start it up (with the key this time) and back it out of the garage. Thanks

They are a packard 56 male terminal. I buy them at Napa. Heres a pic.

Re: '67 Wiring Harness connectors
That's exactly what I was looking for. That's why this board is the greatest.
Thank you! Pics to come soon....

Re: '67 Wiring Harness connectors
Stolen from another poster - so I can't take credit for this (Packard 56 Terminal) information...
"At NAPA they won't know what you are talking about so just tell them you want 20 or so pieces of part number 725147. The male side of that connector is 725145." When you get them - let us know what the price is - since I will likely have to go and get some as well. |

Re: '67 Wiring Harness connectors
Here is Shifty's Faq write-up that has some info on getting the terminals out of the bulkhead connector. Start with post 15.VV

Don't know the part number, but CarQuest carries them too.

Napa was closed by the time I was able to wrestle myself from domestic duties, so I'll wander out today during lunch and report what I've found.

Re: '67 Wiring Harness connectors
Got over to NAPA tonight and gave them the part number. They didn't have any in stock so they had to order them for me. They were $.69 each, so I got 10. Hopefully I'll only need 2, but I do have lots more GM iron sitting around waiting for me to break something small and hard to find.
Again, thanks for the part numbers.

Re: '67 Wiring Harness connectors
You got it - it was something I scraped off the board to use at a later time/date and figured I would pass it on.
Just haven't needed them 'yet' so I hadn't picked any up - wow - They used to be .20 or .40 when looking at some older posts - prices are jumping (like everything else). |
