project: CHAIN REACTION
Well I guess it time I show off my current project. Its a 1973 C10 that started off as a driver/cruzer. Well after we returned from RESO we started talking about building a more show truck. Well 7 months later the truck is in paint getting the full PPG treatment! The truck is bagged, notched, 4linked, bodydropped, custom metal dash, shaved body, etc. We also tucked and shaved the front bumper, one of my favorite mods.. we made the back window 3"s bigger which makes the cab look much bigger & evens out the back window with the rest of the glass. The airfilters are frenched into the cowl we are building a aircleaner that will go from the carb to the firewall/cowl, that will draw the air thru them.. When we get the truck back from paint, its off to get a full Rockford system and interior work. We still need to install the Baer brakes and assist system...we have a set of 24's and 22's that we will run depending if Im driving the truck or showing it. Im sure I have left alot out so feel free to ask any questions or leave comments. Im adding a link to a Picasa album let me know if you cant see it.

I think that's an appropriate title. Dope truck.

Re: project: CHAIN REACTION
Nice work! The mods are an amazing improvement on a classic style. Ironically I had several of them on the list of things to do for my Blazer...

Re: project: CHAIN REACTION
Man, what is the color and pattern that's breaking up the "burnt" orange and black? When I took a closer look, there looks to be a pattern within that stripe.

Re: project: CHAIN REACTION
Wow. That is a really awesome idea. I definitely can't wait to see this truck painted. I think it's really unique how the whole truck is modded to the core, but yet the basic idea of the grille and headlight bezels are kept. Your truck is what my ultimate goal for mine is. I've never had a fullsize truck before. I have had a bodydropped 89 s10 that I built tho. I guess the process is the same, just on a bigger scale and for me, more headroom!

Re: project: CHAIN REACTION
The dash will be painted black, some autometer gauges and a monitor. Center console will flow down the middle to th the woofer box.
try either one of these links, they should work. http://picasaweb.google.com/autocore...008SEMAProject http://www.autocorekustoms.com/current_projects.html

Re: project: CHAIN REACTION
When I'm looking at the pics from your links, it looks like your building the dash in pieces. Is this so you can get the ultimate fit along the sides along the jambs and the windshield? It looks like the supports are welded to the firewall? Will the dash itself be able to come out if need be? What are your plans for a drivetrain?
By the way, I envy you big-time, cause I want to tear into mine, but have no space to do it in. Living in a condo is bogus. Think my community association will have a beef if I start welding in the parking lot?

Re: project: CHAIN REACTION
LOL..been there done that with living in a condo community.
ya the dash was built in a few peices to get a tight fit. It wont come out but the bottom is very open incase we need to service anything in it. goin to run a 400sbc with a automatic
