Front brake conversion

I ve asked this in the other forums amd got no response yet so here goes again! I have a 1968 gmc with front drums and i am wondering if there is a disc brake setup on a different year of truck that will fit the 68 ( 80`s chevs ect)???

I believe you can change ball joints and use '73-'87 pick ups-'73-'91 blazers/subs spindles and disc setup. or you can swap the whole arms from the same '73-'87 pick ups-'73-'91 blazers/subs
you might have to change the outer tie rod ends too, not sure

There are a few options.

The first is the disc swap kit (what I used on my '69) that keeps your ball joints, tie rods, and 6 lug unchanged.

The second is to get spindles, discs, and calipers from a 71-72. Change the ball joints and tie rod ends and get some 5 lug wheels.

The third is to get the control arms, spindles, discs, and calipers (some people just find a whole crossmember) from a '73-87.

There are adjusting sleeves that will adapt your '68 tie rod to the newer tie rod end. As far as I know, the ball joints from a 71-72 will press into your existing arms. Not sure about the '73+.

No matter what you will need a proportioning valve for your master cylinder.

You might be able to find a whole crossmember at a yard or on Craigs List.
