Lowering when you have leafs
My GMC naturally has leaf spring suspension and I'm not too keen on the prices/pain of converting it to coil. I thought about a flip-kit, and I might still do that, but I was wondering if this idea would work. I was thinking maybe these "helper" springs could be used:

Would that be too stressful on the remaining leafs? These bags seem like they are fully capable of holding the weight.

Re: Lowering when you have leafs
After looking some more, I don't think this will work very well, if it all. I couldn't have a c-notch with this, so it couldn't lay very low anyhow.

Re: Lowering when you have leafs
I'd go 4-link from leaf. Not sure if that helps...

Re: Lowering when you have leafs
I'd like to, but it's a $$$ thing. I think at first I'm just going to do drop spindles and a flip-kit in the back w/shackles to raise it back up a couple of inches. Judging from the looks of it, the flip kit would lower the rear about 6" by itself, but there would be almost no clearance left so the frame would need to be notched. Shackles should let me lift it back up enough to get away with not notching the frame right now. When I get rich, I'll notch and bag it.
