1990 suburban doors to fit on a 1978 truck?
I found a really nice pair of suburban doors that have power windows and locks. I would like to put them on my 1978 k-10. To me they are the same as whats on my truck, but the gentleman who owns the doors says they won't fit. What's the difference?
Any info would be great. |

They'll fit. He doesn't know what he's talking about. If your truck doesn't currently have the power windows and locks, you'll have a little bit of wiring to do but that's it. Other than that, they are a direct bolt on. ...Joe

the difference in the doors is the door panels you will no longer be able to use your 78 door panels.. physically they are the same with the body line and all and will bolt up and function

Actually you can use the 78 door panels, but if they aren't power, the power button isn't going to work.

MY wife's 74' swb is getting power doors of of a 86'
be sure and get the power door wiring harness if possible...I stripped the 74's harness and installed the 86's harness so its plug n play! |

Thanks for the info guys. I don't know if i will be able to get the wiring harness as seeing its a suburban and still mostly complete. But for only having $100 bucks in the doors i think i can wire them up.

The power window harness is a totally separate harness and easy to remove with out affecting the rest of the harness....just in case you can get it
it has relays and stuff on it |
