rent a truck hauler?
hey guys i am moving to texas and am trying to find a trailer so i can haul it down there without renting a truck too. I have a 2002 chevy 2500 hd so i know i can handle my 86 chevy shortbed! uhaul is the only place ive found so far and it was almost 600 bucks! i was wondering if you guys knew of any other places that would be cheaper? thanks

Re: rent a truck hauler?
Most places won't allow you to rent the trailer without their thruck (Hertz, Budget etc..). U-Haul is the only place I know... did you get the rate online? How about a tow dolley instead?
You can usually find good car haulers for $1200-$1500 used, or a tow dolley for $400-$600 usually. Or a tow bar is the cheapest...($50 at harbor Freight) I rented a U-haul trailer for $50 a day but that was local...

Re: rent a truck hauler?
Ive never done it but ive known people that have just bought a towbar for $100-150 and hauled a vehicle on all 4. I think you would have to disconnect the DS if it is an auto...just an idea.
