Tailgate differences?
So are there differences in tailgates from year to year or models? The reason I ask is because I want to put a blazer tailgate band on my truck and there seems to be a large gap on top and bottom when I hold it up there. I had put one of the regular silverado tailgate bands on there a few years ago and I had the same problem.

Yes the tailgates are different, there was a thread on this a while back. The "band" is also different depending on what year you are talking about.

Ok, well I went and found that thread (i think) and it states that 73-80 are different than 81-87...
Problem is that my truck is an 81 but the bands are from newer than that. |
