Air ride with no compressor

Initially I do not plan on running compressors - just schraeder valves. If I wanted to install a tank, what inexpensive options do I have for maintaining ride height just using the air in the tank. I would just air the tank up manually periodically. Excuse my ignorance, but it's my first time using bags.

If your gonna plumb in the tank, I dont think you've got too many options without running a decent set of valves.

You can always go manual to keep the price down. Then just plumb it up like a regular system.

Or keep the schraeder valves to fill the bags. Have extra air line from the tank, to reach each of them(or like the coiled style line that expands) and just fill them like that.

Gotcha. Thanks for the input. I figured there wasn't a way to do it without valves. If it's all plumbed tight how often should the bags require more air - weekly?

If you have everything air tight, and I mean NO leaks, then I woudnt see why it would need more than that.

Re: Air ride with no compressor

Thanks, just thought it might require some maintenance with temperature changes and such.

Temp change would have to be pretty dramatic even then it may only vary between 5 and 10psi. I am mostly concerned why you would want to go with Air and not include a compressor system? The biggest advantage of Air is the ability to lower and lift the truck and make changes to the pressure to improve ride quality and performance

One word - MONEY! I do plan to eventually plumb it for a tank and compressor, but right now I have other things that are a higher priority. I figured as long as I am tearing my truck apart I might as well go ahead and get the bags in, plus I understand that I should have better ride quality with them.?.

tdave00- What you can do is buy a tank from Wal-Mart like the one pictured below. Fill it and carry it as a back up, or if you get the urge to dump your bags at the local cruise. Just make sure you know that it has enough air to refill your system before you air out.
