Chevy Suburban 1978

So I have a question!

Can anyone tell me what this is (see pictures) and if it is possible to remove it from the engine/exhaust?

Last pic is the thermo-controlled vacuum valve. It's supposed to block vacuum to the distributor when the engine is cold.

First two pics, I have never seen that thing before... Where does the other end go to? Fuel tank or transmission, maybe?

I took both off my 80. No problems.

First pic is an EFE valve. Emissions item designed to route exhaust gases to the base of the carb.

And to heat your motor up faster when it's cold...
