Yellow wire on coil?
So I had a small fire with my truck and I was re wiring it when I noticed it had a Yellow wire coming off my Coil that leads straight to my starter solenoid, is this right? I mean it was real small fire it didn't harm those wires I just thought it was odd to have a wire coming from my coil to my starter. Fire only harmed my electric choke wire stupid gas line leaked

Re: Yellow wire on coil?
thats the wire to bypass the resistor circuit on a ponits system to give a full 12volts on the start position to the coil

Re: Yellow wire on coil?
yes, if you still have the old points ignition system, then the yellow wire is original, it goes from the R terminal on the starter to the positive terminal on the coil.

Re: Yellow wire on coil?
Sweet, So it is still hooked up right. I was starting to wonder if the harness had been played with before I got it.
