WTB: 86 upper control arms

hey guys, ive stripped my front end down, and my upper control arms are a bit too rusted thin near the bushes, so to be on the safe side im goin to replace them. has anyone got a nice set sitting round with no or minimal rust?
i need both left and right, ball joints / bushes optional - ive got new ones.
thanks

Re: 86 upper control arms

I have the uppers I replaced with tubular A-arms. They are off of a 79 Heavy Half 2WD. I have both, they have surface rust but no deep pits or thin spots that I can see. I was just going to scrap them so if you pay the shipping I’ll send them to you, I’ve never shipped anything over seas before so I’m not sure what shipping company to use or anything, but if you want them they’re yours.

I don't need them but I think DHL would be your best bet for shipping should you guys decide to go through with the deal. . . .just from my experience.

Re: 86 upper control arms

Well I live in the middle of nowhere so DHL moved out of town back in June or July, I looked into Fedex and UPS and they both want around $450.00-$500.00 US dollars to ship to Perth Australia for a package around 35 lbs (I'm guessing on the weight but I know it's atleast 30 lbs). If you still want them I'll send them but I'll need a check up front I just don't have the cash to cover it.

Re: 86 upper control arms

I have a set from my '86 that are in good shape. I'll make you the same deal, you pay shipping and they are yours.

79gmc is right, the major carriers want an arm and a leg to ship this kind of stuff. FedEx quote was around $350, DHL was $400, etc. But I could send it by Priority Mail International for about $140 plus insurance (assuming package weighs 30lbs). The arms I have had the ball joints replaced at some point, so it would be easy to remove them to save some weight. And if you don't need the cross-shafts I could burn the bushings out and drop a couple more pounds.

If you are interested let me know and I'll snap some pics of them. I can strip them this weekend, and get you an accurate shipping cost. I will need your address with postal code.

Re: 86 upper control arms

I took them in and weighed them at work today and I was way off. They're only 11 lbs not 30 but the shipping, Fedex was still around $207. I didn't even think about US Mail, they're alot cheeper. Here's the break down but I would expect a slight variance in price as this is an estimated weight and postal code. Also they are striped down already (ie no cross shaft, ball joints, or bump stops just the arms them selves) I was going to reuse them before I desided to make my own.
