firewall mounted brake pedal assembly

Just a quick question, who else makes a firewall mounted brake pedal assembly for our AD trucks besides CPP. Im looking for just the pedal assembly without the booster & master cylinder. Something that just bolts in (of coarse aside from having to drill a few holes to mount it).

Thanks!

this is also quite a deal I can not pass up, but I will wait till I hear what parts (booster/mc) from a production vehicle can be used to save a little bit of $$$.

Re: firewall mounted brake pedal assembly

You can also try Industrial Chassis Inc.

That is where I got mine for my 1956. I am not sure if they also supply them for the AD trucks but they seem like a great group of guys and I am very happy with the quality of their work.

Re: firewall mounted brake pedal assembly

industrial chassis Inc does have a firewall mounted pedal assembly available with master cylinder & brake booster listed on their site, but I have to call for a price. They do seem to offer a choice of either a re-manufactured booster and/or master cylinder. I will call when I get a chance to see what they want for one.

More than likely Im going to go with the one by Pirate Jacks as they are much closer to Pennsylvania and that will help save on shipping cost and shipping time.

Now I need to find out what booster and master cylinder I can use from a mid 80's to early 2000's production vehicle with the pirate jack assembly. This way I can just buy the pedal assembly and pay like $30 at the local auto salvage yard for sometimes a practically new booster & master cylinder.

Re: firewall mounted brake pedal assembly

Sounds like a good plan. I mistakenly went right off and bought the pedal assembly and master cylinder & booster all at once. It will work real good but I could have saved some money if I would have just slowed down a bit. I think that was the first piece I bought. Mine is going to be plumbed right into my 80 frame & stock chevy residual valve. I have already changed the ends on the hard brake lines down to fit.

Pretty sure Industrial C. would just sell the assembly also.

The unit I got had a booster & master cylinder from a f--d ranger. In their research and experience doing hot rods they wanted something small - especially the big round booster - and pushing lots of pressure. I researched it a bit also and the ranger is a high pressure unit. I have yet to install it. Don't figure get in a rush to order, spend a bit more than I should have and then don't get it in for a year.

Once you get the pedal assembly you could measure it up and see what would fit. With a little modification and measuring the push rod carefully you should have lots of choices. The length of the push rod from pedal through booster is pretty critical.

Re: firewall mounted brake pedal assembly

FWIW:
Stock '82 Chevy pedal assembly, brackets, booster, etc

While not exactly the "bolt in" you requested, it's not anything that can't be accomplished with basic hand/power tools and replacement parts will be plentiful when needed.
