Replacing control arm bushing on a 87

I am replacing both upper and lower control arm bushings on a 87 Suburban 2 wheel drive.

Now when I did this on my transam there was just a bolt to frame on the lower arm this truck looks like it has a shaft that goes through top and bottom. So what would I need to pull and reinstall?

I used a press to push the old ones out and the new ones in, after I took them off the vehicle that is.

Did some digging I think I have to use this

The TA I used a hammer with oil and they came right out. I did not think that will be possible on the 87 since they have a shaft the runs through it.

Re: Replacing control arm bushing on a 87

I used an Oxygen/Acetylene set up with a rosebud to get mine out. Made a huge mess and was a pain in the but, I would have paid $99 bucks for this if I’d known about it. What really sucked was after I got them out I found out the lower control arms were no good and scraped them anyways.

I watched my bro-in-law burn them out with a torch. He says that's the easiest way to get it done.
