The jury is still out on that claim...some better, some not, so I don't think that statement is truly accurate.

Won't make a big difference if/when they do start making bedsides if the quality is similar to the 67-72 stuff. I know more than 1 person that has grumbled about the obvious imperfections (poor fit, damages from shipment, mis-aligned holes vs. factory stuff).

But.... I guess your still ahead w/aftermarket stuff vs. not finding any good used parts @ all or the ones you do have are heavily damaged.

Re: Restore ?

Ya i would rather grumble about the parts not fitting right (at least they are being made/reproduced) than to patch pieces together like 1966gmc said.

Re: Restore ?

I would rather pay 400 bucks for a complete side than have to cut and weld every bad part of my bed. As it is, my bed needs the front panel, all the cross bars, the wood and strip package and the rear support that connects both sides together. All of them are very easy to find, might be costly but still, they are available. It's goin to cost me more to restore my bed than I paid for the entire truck lol

Re: Restore ?

I had started a post awhile back with a guys name on ebay, that I had called and he said about a year before they would start selling the fleetside bed sides. He told me that a certain company was in the process of making them. I hope this is true.
