I just thought this was too cool......
So I thought I'd share with you guys. I'm into building custom models and I'd love to know how he wired up the LEDs on this.

Nice, that would be great to scare the beans out of a chihuahua.
I have not seen a 1/16 C-10. Where are they available?

Re: I just thought this was too cool......
I'm not exactly sure where you could find one at Rogue. I have found many plastic and dicast models but I have never come accross an RC like that. I'm on the hunt now though.

Ok, I want a border patrol truck now. Of course I don't need 150 different flashing patterns, but the truck looked cool none the less.

Re: I just thought this was too cool......
That is slick... anyone have any clue how you would hook up LEDs like that? Or even just for headlights and taillights?

Re: I just thought this was too cool......
I worked on a 1/16th scale 69 Camaro and buried myself in too many details!!! .....so, its not quite finished. In the search for stuff, at Radio Shack I came across small little electronics projects and one was "blinky lights". It was a small board with a few components to make leds blink. You can change the rate by changing the components. I was going to lite up the console and the running lites in my model.
Anyway, I believe this how this was done; probably a couple of micro switches to change between different circuits. You can get tiny batteries for this as well.

Re: I just thought this was too cool......
I've done it before on my 1/10 scale rc cars. I used info from here: http://www.swami-rc.com/lighting.htm
I used a 9 volt battery and got all the parts at radio shack, but you can order them from different places online. |

Re: I just thought this was too cool......
Thanx originalJD.......just spent about an hour searching for these things! The link posted on here to JRP or whatever will not allow you to get one. I had to go to Maisto toys and find a place that had them...they also had a really *****en 1/12 scale Impala.
I think I was just inspired to do some modeling again.

LOL! Yeah, I spent some time lookin also. I accidently deleted all the links I saved so I gave up. What I was most interested in is how to wire up the LEDs. I know a guy who is pretty good at it so I'm gonna have him show me. As for where to find these trucks in either plastic, diecast, or RC. I have found that most hobby model manufacture names carry them. the problem is that they are not as common as others. It just takes some time searching. Most likely you will have to order one online.

Re: I just thought this was too cool......
I was sitting here enjoying the usual 'message board' banter when the UPS guy showed up......recieved the 1/16th scale truck and also picked up the *****in' 1/12th scale '64 Impala. These are really cool...
