56" SPRINGS, Which end if the front?
Just got a set of 56" springs and DIY shackle flips for the rear of my '72. I noticed that the spring eye is bigger on one side than the other and the distance from the pin to the eye is different as well....
So my question is which end of the spring is the front? The longer distance from pin to eye or the shorter from pin to eye?

Whichever works best for your wheelbase and tire size
I generally put the longer side to the front. |

Running 38.5's on the street and 42's in the muck. Gonna trim the fenders a bit anyway and I don't care if I nibble the front or the rear. The longer wheelbase option sounds good. Just wasn't sure if switching would bogger up spring geometry

Shorter towards the front.... that is also so you can maintain your sway bar. That spring pack probably has a built in shim to correct pinion angle that need to be heading the right way.

(This is the rear of his truck). Shim can be flipped around. |
