Cool find 79 C10 on youtube
I found this 79c10. They upgraded the suspension and put it to the test. Last edited by thump16; 12-27-2008 at 09:08 PM. |

Re: Cool find 79 C10 on youtube
There was a member asking about making his truck handle like a cadillac. This looks like a pretty good start.

Re: Cool find 79 C10 on youtube
Custom Classic Trucks did a bunch of writeups on that truck as well as several other c10's. Great articles such as adding a sway bar to these trucks, lockers, lowering kits, c-notches. I love the step by step articles they do. www.customclassictrucks.com

Re: Cool find 79 C10 on youtube
Isn't CPP the company that gets all the bad reviews in the review forum?

Re: Cool find 79 C10 on youtube
The website is a bit confusing. If you click on their technical article's link, there is a step by step write up, for that trailing arm conversion and it is listed as 63-87. On their homepage though they only list parts up to 1972 trucks. Wierd

Very cool upgrades... I think I might be picking up one of their master cylinders when I do my brake upgrade.

Re: Cool find 79 C10 on youtube
Is it just me or appart from the brakes, the rest does not seem to give that much more performance.

Re: Cool find 79 C10 on youtube
I think so too - braking was a major improvement - the other (expensive) stuff doesn`t help that much .... but it`s cool to hear that there`s a company who builds a lot of suspension stuff for our trucks as well.

As I understand it the trailing arm rear suspension makes for a better ride but I don't know if that translates into better handling? All the rears kits I have seen have been four-link (not just for trucks but for all hotrods?). I have heard the four-links make for a much better ride AND handling. And after my last post I went to the review forum and CPP has a pretty bad rep. I would stay away from them just for that reason.
