What did you get done? Christmas edition.

I spent to week trying to squeeze 5 days in to 3 so I could take off for Christmas. I ended up giving my guys off but had to work Friday.

We had Christmas at home then went to Mom-in-laws house for dinner. We fried two turkeys and had tons of food. Good eating and great company.

I worked in the house on Saturday, and out in the yard today. I got the outside decorations taken down. Now we have to get the inside finished.

What did you get done?

Re: What did you get done? Christmas edition.

Plenty of friends and fellowship over the weekend. As far as truck related items.... zilch!

I hope everyone had a great holiday.

Re: What did you get done? Christmas edition.

Got the ART AirPod mounted and ran the rear bag air lines. Installed the rear bags, 2" blocks, and rear shocks. Checked all brakeline clearences and exhaust interferences. May have to shorten the driveshaft a little. Now I need to finish the modified Super Track Bar Mount for the RH trailing arm.

Re: What did you get done? Christmas edition.

I have been sick since Xmas eve and I finally got to feeling good enought to go outside and get some small details done. I still have not been able to get the motor back to running good. I have a buddy coming over sometime next week to help me out. I finally painted the grill. It came out looking good. It is no where near perfect, I have to work on my taping techniques so I can get straight lines.
Here is what I started with:

Here is how it looks now:

I ran out of patience pulling the tape off so I will finish that tomorrow.
I also pulled the front wheels off and painted them as well. They had alot of surface rust and were in bad shape. I am going to get some new ones soon so this is temporary. They came out looking better than I thought.
Started with this:

And ended with this:

I also got the first stage of clearancing my other block for the 383. I threw the crank in there and used some stock rods and pistons to get the most out of the way. I will have to get the block bored and honed so I can check it with the good rods. I was really suprised at how little I actually had to remove. I hope I don't have to take out more with the other rods. And to believe the machine shop wanted to charge me $250 for less than 2 hrs of work and about $50 worth of tools(Drill and Carbide cutter).

Re: What did you get done? Christmas edition.

I changed out the corroded battery box, buffed out where some dombuss whacked my rig with his door, cleaned out the cab and bed, started work on some gun racks, posted 2 adds trying to get rid of my sm465 & np208, did the christmas thing, and opened a savings account for a 95-02 Silverado DD, opened another savings account for one hell of a engine rebuild, lift and tires.

Re: What did you get done? Christmas edition.

Finished with the engine rebuild on my 73, rewired it, changed it to HEI and fixed the shifter pointer with fish line, just like someone on this forum said they did it. Works great, thank you. I put a demon carburetor and can't seem to figure out why it won't return to idle with out taping on gas peddle. Any ways, I also made a rack to hold my air tools. Here's some pictures.

Re: What did you get done? Christmas edition.

Ended up working late on Christmas Eve, bummer. Spent a very enjoyable Christmas day with the family. Took off work Friday, wife and daughters went shopping I worked on a friend’s 55 Ford. Saturday I installed a McGaughy's bolt-in C notch on the Heap in preparation for the upcoming air bag job. Sunday was a rest and relaxation day.

My notch will be welded in.

Re: What did you get done? Christmas edition.

Went to the inlaws on thursday, had a pretty good time (except we ended up losing our key and remote for the alarm on the 03, luckily it wasn't armed). Didn't really do anything on friday. Saturday, I picked up a shortbed for my 74 GMC. And didn't do anything again on sunday. Still haven't been able to find the key and remote, been using the spare key just can't arm the alarm or use the remote start which is nice this time of year.

A couple pictures of the bed I found on craigslist, guy brought it up from the Dallas area and I gave $500 for it.

It's in real good shape, no rust and only minor dents. I think I did ok.
