Newton's law
with every action there is an equal, opposite re-action...
I got my exhaust done today! while testdriving.. stupid me forgot to re-"rig" up a device to hold my radiator.. (have been using a bunjee cord) and while getting up to speed.. radiator collapsed onto my fan... resulting in an antifreeze explosion... exhaust- $160 new radiator- $150 learning a valuable lesson in the art of double checking... priceless... nothing good can happen, without something horrible happening as well immediately after

Re: Newton's law
Sorry to hear about your accident, but I must ask, where do you get a new radiator for $150.00? I need a new 4-core Desert Cooler for my '66 Chevy C10 with a 327.
Congrats on the new exhaust system. |

Re: Newton's law
I checked with O'Reilly online and didn't find anything close to a 4-core Desert Cooler like the factory Harrison I have in my '66 Chevy C10 with a 327. I will try 1-800-radiator.
Thanks for the information and good luck with your truck dolphman88. |

Re: Newton's law
Dude that sucks! IMO While spending I would buy or fab up some real rad mounts.. The old bungee cord doen't sound like a good Idea esp when your making the investment in a new rad..

Re: Newton's law
Oh Man, that truly sucks!
I think the worst self-imposed drama I ever had was with my kid’s 63’ and a gummed up gas tank. Got the bright idea to bungie a one-gallon plastic gas tank to the hood of the truck and run the fuel line through a hole in the hood (conveniently left their by the guy he just bought it from - via some ancient 1-barrel back firing rust on the inside). It was great until I started to go around a corner too fast at a busy intersection and the damn thing flew off and lodged itself under some old lady’s Buick setting in a turn lane across the street. It finally popped out from under her car about 200 feet down the road - thankfully without igniting. Class-A Moron Award for the day.

Re: Newton's law
Ahhh, I had sort of the same thing happen with my '42 Willys Jeep about ten years ago. I found out while going up a bumpy hill that the body mounts had rotted and the body bolts had severly corroded. The body slid back 6" on the frame, pulling the radiator into my sweet new flex-fan, sending my hood open, and coolant all over the winshield. I had to call the parents for a trailer ride home!
