Doing a project today - Need some advice ASAP
I'm installing my stereo and carpet today - finally! And I have a sub box and an amp. I was going to install the amp on a piece of mdf, but what's the best way to secure the board to the back of the cab? I really don't want to drill into and have screws coming out the other side... any ideas?
TIA |

Most people build a box with a flat area on it to mount the amp. I will see if I can find a pic.

Check this box out. You can enlarge the picture on the page to see it up close.
Also you could mount the amp under the seat. I have done it before using some flat steel bar attaching to the seat mounting rails and then attaching the amp to that. Good luck and post a pic when you are done! |

The pic doesn't show? I really want the amp behind the seat next to the sub. The sub does have a flat spot to mount on the bottom but it still needs to be secured to the back cab wall to... somehow?

Velcro to the back of the cab ?
Mine's going under the seat. There really is a lot of room under there, even for a large amp. I was gonna velcro it so I can pull it out to adjust the gain and crossover.

I've used silicone caulking before for the back attachment, worked very well, couldn't pull it off without a LOT of force, never rattled, and did'nt have to drill any holes.

Yeah there is this construction adhesive made by loctite called power grab. U can glue anything to anything and it will hold. only thing is you might never get it off.
