Carb Swap Issue...
Hey Y'all,
I am bout to swap out the q-jet carb on my pre 86sb with the Edelbrock 1405Prob I am havin is the orig trottle linkage rod is bout 3/8 in diameter. The mount hole on the 1405 is 1/2" in dia. I did not see any "adapters" or bushings from Edelbrock. Any of ya got ideas on how to rememdy this? The Q-Jet needs a rebuild and I've not ever done one. Dont mean I can't. Its just the Crewie is the only commute vehicle i got right now. I gotta get this linkage thing taken care of yesteray. Any ideas/info is greatly appreciated!

Re: Carb Swap Issue...
I had the same issue when I swapped to an Edelbrock. I found a bushing kit at the local A.Zone. I believe it was in one of those "help" kits. May have bought a couple to get the pieces I needed. I can a take a pic of my setup if you want.

Re: Carb Swap Issue...
u guyz rock! thanks!! i actually went and looked at the local o'rileys for a bushing of sort. nothing so i went to the harware store and found a 1" spacer that had a .5 od and a .32 id. all i had to do was break out the dremel to cut down to width and place 3/4" washer on each side of the bushing.... my daily driver goes vroom vroom again. will see how it like the covina/pomona i-10 grade tomorrow morn. that will be the true test. but so far it rollin strong..... man this can lead into so much more :-)

Re: Carb Swap Issue...
I have an Ace near me and it has the biggest set of junk Ive ever seen. They always ask me if I need help and Im just staring at stuff in case I need it some day....I actually thought of mentioning it, but I didnt know how much of a hurry you were in. My ziptie has over 100+ miles with no failures.
