Re: What did you get done? Valentines edition.

Celebrated V-Day Friday night including Chocolate covered Strawberries . Sat morning went to the Conroe swap meet . Came home with nothing . Little work around the house Sat including cooking Fajitas and making more Chocolete strawberries for my bride . I had several also . Sunday was spent going out to eat with my family for my wifes birthday . Then we moved some furniture around , from our house to my inlaws , and back , etc . Just put the kids to bed after cooking a few sausage links on the grille . I like this time of year for the grilling alone . The weather is a bonus . I did nothing truck related except look at some at the swap meet .

It was a nice day so I went for a short drive to get the flat spots off the tires. Added a little bit of heat to expedite the process.

Re: What did you get done? Valentines edition.

Discovered my bumper isn't actually attached to the truck but attached to the towing receiver.

Trying to figure out a way to get my tailgate latch to stop sticking.

Cleaned up a bunch of excess wiring from PO

Jumped into truck Friday morning to start it.. wouldn't go. Checked alternator belt and it was loose. Tightened up alternator and belt is tight and now holds a good 14v charge unless I put on my blinker and the volt meter fluctuates hahaha.

Re: What did you get done? Valentines edition.

I STARTED to tear apart an entire 90 Suburban including saving the rear diff for Philatruck. V-day was just basically a drainage day for it. Yesterday was a carefully label all parts & wiring day. I pulled the engine/trans/ rear this morning and It went to the crusher at 4pm today. I juste cleaned up all the oil stains.
Not a bad valentines weekend-- so why is the wife pissy????? you guys see any problems here.

Trying to figure out a way to get my tailgate latch to stop sticking.spray the crap out of it with WD-40 or similar up into the pivot area right behind the handle. work it about 1000 times, no more, no less. it should free up. Taking the latch OUT and mounting in a vice makes it free up MANY times faster. It's prolly not the latches, but the pivot point. you can detach the rod clips by reaching up in there from the handle area.

Cleaned up a bunch of excess wiring from POahhh- boo-rigs- the extra wires were there in case you breakdown out in the wildernesss and there are no auto stores around.

Yo! Y'all!
Finished wiring FRANKENTRUCK's heater fan,...now it has high, med, low,...and OFF! Lashed in the new "saddleblanket" seat cover over the new upholstery, and finished the electric choke wiring. And a drive.
New windshield next weekend? If the weather permits.
Todd.

Re: What did you get done? Valentines edition.

Got some more work done too the '69 rear suspension. I plan on a 5.5"/7" static drop, so I decided to add a c-notch. Stripped all the unnessary stuff off the frame. I'm almost ready to go back together with the ECE 6" drop springs, shock relocators, Super Track bar, and 1" blocks.

Saturday went to the Dallas Autorama, and today I wired my Mojave heater, now I have to figure out where I'm going to route the heater hose, and tomorrow I might wire the back up lights, and 3rd brake lights

Re: What did you get done? Valentines edition.

Put the Q-jet for my '76 back together that I took apart last weekend and cleaned. Got it back on the truck and fired it up and it ran pretty good. I was gonna go to the gas station and get some gas that wasn't 5 years old but when I dropped it in gear she wouldn't go. Just got the tranny in there a couple months ago after a rebuild and it went fine in forwards and reverse when I put it in so I was scratchin my head when it wouldn't go today. Got to lookin and found it's low on fluid...pan bolts may need snugging up a bit. I will do that tomorrow and fill the fluid. I also pulled the hub caps off and cleaned them up and painted them.

Worked late Fri night..... Sat spent doing the V-day thing w/the GF.....

Today I did the fast walk through the Autorama & then out to the shop to finish up the boxing plates that will eventually be part of the 'new' frame for my RetroRod. I'm using the boxing plates as templates & having 2-more sets lazer cut on Monday for other possible installations .

Re: What did you get done? Valentines edition.

Did the Valentines Day routine Saturday morning with the wife and kids.

Drove the Heap up to Richmond Saturday for an indoor car show.

Sat down Sunday and ordered most everything I need to bag the front end on the Heap. Already had the bags and brackets, needed the compressor, tank, valves, line etc.

The rear will be a post in another “What did you get done….” Thread in a couple months. It’s a budget thing, budgets make for better projects, makes you think first.

Re: What did you get done? Valentines edition.

Only thing truck related was picking up my 355 short block at the freight place. I just got home Friday night from traveling for work since last Saturday, so the truck hasn't gotten anything done in two weeks! Since its only another month and a half till my wife has the baby, most of the weekends free time was spent moving the furniture into the nursery and starting to get that setup. Maybe next weekend the truck will fire up for the first time in a year, and then I can continue on with interior and details.

Re: What did you get done? Valentines edition.

I spent most of the weekend removing trees and leaves from my property. Took the wife out on Saturday night. Spent Sunday afternoon watching parts of the 500, ACC basketball and a few minutes of the NBA ALLSTAR game. No truck stuff this weekend.
