Going from 6 to 4 inch
Ordering rear 4" springs tomorrow for my Tuff Country lift fronts. Going back to the four inch with the Rancho 9000's. It rode so much better than the 6" BDS.

Funny how the BDS were rougher, always hear such good things about them, but you of course have first hand experience. Let us know how the new ones compare.

Are you ordering 4" springs for the rear and you have springs for the front?That`s what I`m doing this week.I just got a pair of rear springs I`ll pick up this weekend for my`72 GMC.I`m using Tuff Countrys,too.
What shocks are you using?

I am running the Rancho 9000's with the 4 inch. Yes I am buying so 4" rears from Rocky Mountain. Wish I could find somewhere a little cheaper. With shipping the two rears are gonna cost me around 500. I will be getting rid of the 6" once I get it all switched over.

MUDDER What shocks you been running with the six springs? I have found that the 20 dollar shocks ride way better than the big name 60 dollar shocks. Try the cheap line of Pro Comp shocks. Like i said about 20 bucks a piece from 4 Wheel Parts. Also, I never thought it would make a ride difference, but I was proven wrong a greaseable leaf spring / shackle bolt. Off Road Design makes a nice kit. The shocks and greaseable bolts make a big difference. And cheaper than the shipping on the springs. BIG HEAD OUT

I have been running the cheapo Pro Comps with the six. Was thinking maybe they were part of the problem. Thanks for the greaseable bushings. I will have to get new ones anyway.

Hey guys the thing about most of the shocks that come with most of the "name brand" lift kits are made by one or two companys with that lift guys name on them. Unless you get some real nice bilstines a shock is a shock is a shock. My Superlift came with shocks that were Desert Rats own shock made buy who the hell knows. If I had the bucks I would go with remotes but at $150-200 a pop not gona happen. I'm so over budget I'd have to sell an organ to do it. Huummm I wonder what my left nut is worth ??

I was a Rancho Gas Die hard until I was talked into BILSTEIN on my 1992 Cummins
that truck had a Skyjacker 4 inch with the bilsteins pricey but I liked them Also I had a Bad set and the warranty was excellent ...No question replacement I have a 4 inch on the short right now and when i get around to restoring it I will put the Bilsteins on it |

If anybody can give a model number of the Bilsteins for a 4" lift i'm all ears....or eyes as the case may be..
