Re: what did you get done 2/22/09
I worked this weekend so I didn't get a chance to work on my truck. I did wash my drivers but that's about it.
I spent most of today working in my yard. I had the yard crew here to help and we transplanted some large Sago palms. We laid down some fresh stone pathways, and spread several bags of weed-n-feed. I replaced several fittings and a few broken heads on my sprinkler system and fired it up for the season. Thanks for starting the thread Bob.

Re: What did you get done 2/22/09
Well Friday I clay bared my truck with mothers products what a difference it made the finish hasn't look that good in over 2 years when it never left the garage, and started cleaning out my dads wood shop also used as storage shed, and machine shop, what a mess it was found tools we lost 5 years ago, and that night I went to drive in restaurant with my dad, and almost ripped my lower control arms out of my truck on my way there the lower control arms hit a bad patch job luckily it was lose asphalt, and a bunch of asphalt went flying behind my truck and none of it hit my truck, "That Dallas Texas roads for you" stupid roads aren't slammed truck friendly
Saturday I finally finished the front suspension on the farm and show truck build, and today changed the oil in my truck, and almost high centered my truck luckily the gas tank didn't drag, just the header flange and transmission brace got a little scrape

I moved 4' of snow from in front of the 76, just so another 4' could take its place.

Re: What did you get done 2/22/09
Started an air bag project on the Heap. Made brackets for the tank, the tank will be mounted along the driver's side frame rail just under the cab. Eventually the tank and compressors will be in the bed.
Helped a co-worker clean out his mom's garage Sunday. Came home with a floor style drill press and another welder.

Re: What did you get done 2/22/09
Only got 4" of snow (Detroit and as Thumpin455 points out, Marquette got more!). Pulled out my trailer in preperation for scrounging. Got the first layer of final paint on the daughter's room. Why people choose DARK paint on house walls is beyond me. I'm guessing it'll take 3 coats....

Pulled out my engine on Saturday, took some parts off it, painted them, placed them on my new shortblock.
Had a shooting competition Sunday, didn't get anything done. I'll be dropping it in today after school. Gotta love it.

Re: What did you get done 2/22/09
Well it was more than just this weekend, but. I finished it this weekend.
Late January I aquired a halftop for a 73-75. On the Friday 13th I picked this up: And proceeded to Neuter it to this: Then I cut the rocker boxes off: Then Quartered the rest for Scrap. I salvaged the Trans Tunnel because you never know. I also lined up another Fulltop conversion that has another windshield frame and full top. I also started addressing the shoddy patching on my Jimmy...

Re: What did you get done 2/22/09
Repl. Lifter that was tapping. I think my Wife floated it revving the motor!! Can you belive that? Then for like the tenth time I had to fix that sorry door handle, you know how the button just goes all the way in and drops inside the door! Crap I hate it when it does that. I opened up the little split pin that keeps slipping out allowing the spring and button to let go. Working inside a door is a pain. Door handles came from LMC. I thought they were to cheap! Drivers door will be next. Only twice for it so far. Have a Good week Guys.

Yo!
New windshield this weekend and tuning. Wired the choke (and the heater fan to have an off position) last weekend. On errand duty so far. Near completion after a year. Todd.

Nothing truck related at all. I'm away in Milwaukee for some factory Buell training. I hope when I get home I will have some one piece windows waiting at my work so I can put them in.

I plan to do the same thing to the fan motor, don't quite understand why they designed it to run all the time when the ignition is on...

Re: What did you get done 2/22/09
well i can finally say i accomplished something this weekend. I had problems with my fuel system thinking it was either the tank switching valve or switch got rid of that problem installed holley blue electric pump with new fuel lines so now all i have to do is drop the drivers side pump because something is clogged and im sure that this is the root of y problem to begin with but now i have a constant 6psi of fuel no if and or buts about it. I also rewired the front section of my fire wall by the battery the relays were getting sloppy so i just got a really big relay for everything, i.e. fans, hids, fuel pump, compressors. now it looks alot better, oh and i ran a new grond and power wire for the starter so that whole corner is really cleaned up. and i rounded out the day buy heating up my rear leafs a bit with a torch and got another inch of drop, and before you guys say it i didnt just do the corners i heated the whole spring and it just locked down a bit no differnce in ride so far so it was a good weekend. Im now in the bahamas for the rest of the week on a fishing trip but i will get you some pics of what i have gotten done. what do you guys think if i were to paint my truck imperial blue off of the 08 silverados, i like the blue my truck currently has but would like to give it a bit of a kick.

Re: What did you get done 2/22/09
Well, I got the mess cleaned up. I was out in the garage (right now) reading the forums when the air compressor came on and I about crapped myself and busted my beer bottle when I knocked it off the bench and then I stepped in the pan of old oil I should have dumped earlier in the day..... I'm minus one shoe that's soaked in oil but I have more beer and here I am typing this post, now the compressor had quitetened down.... I'll dump the rest of the pan tomorrow....

I replaced the headlight switch last night and found out after the problem with no running lights/dash was a missing fuse.

Re: What did you get done 2/22/09
I didn't get any truck related stuff done, just to cold out. I did get 2 of my Coleman 1 burner GI stoves going from WW2 and a single mantle mantel lantern from the 40's got a new generator and now runs well and the 2 burner stove from the same period got torn down and repainted and will go togther this afternoon and get fired up. Will be working on the truck as soon as it gets warm out.

Re: What did you get done 2/22/09
I have been very busy the last month or so working and playing. I have been putting back together my truck at nights! Then I wrecked my daily driver when I was run off the road an week and a half ago. Of course the other driver didn't see me or even stop. BMW's don't take well to hitting curbs sideways with the left front tire at high rates of speed. I wasn't hurt, but my daily driver is totaled. I have had to step up the pace of making my stepside a daily driver. I never intended to drive it daily, but for now I don't have a choice. I have to finish the doors and add some tunes. I have had nothing but issues with the one piece window kit so far. So I still don't have my door panels on. This weekend I completely stripped down the doors to bare shells and started putting it all back together after sound deadening the doors shells. I installed new regulators, hoping that that was causing the alignment issues that I have had. I still can't get them to line up right when the window goes up. I need to find someone in the Dallas area that knows how to make these adjustments since that is what I have been told the issue is. Anyone??? Bueller....Bueller...Bueller...I really could use some help with these!!! They look great, I hope on the truck, I hope that I didn't make a huge mistake!
