Bed shocks
Guys, I have sort of figured that these shocks help
with carrying a heavy camper. If I am wrong let me know. Thanks.

Re: Bed shocks
I am unsure about the shocks. That is what looks to make sense. But I wish I had your factory sway bar set up?

Re: Bed shocks
The shocks were a part of the Z83 Deluxe Camper Special package.

Re: Bed shocks
Can somebody explain these to me??? If the bed is mounted to the frame, and the cab is mounted to the frame, how do these work??
I was looking at a similar set up a few weeks ago on another truck. Greg

Re: Bed shocks
Quote:
The Deluxe Camper Special package included all the Camper Special equipment, the Camper Tie-Down package, the Elimi-Pitch Package,(Bed to Body and Camper to cab shock absorbers), and the rear stabilizer which was standard on the 30 Series trucks. The idea of tying the cab to bed and cab to cabover was to eliminate some of the pitch and roll in truck camper applications. Last edited by Dooley; 03-10-2009 at 12:53 AM. |

Re: Bed shocks
Yep, that is what they were for and how they worked.
Here is another image of it:
