Another Hello from Kansas

Hi. I like trucks. I like 67-72 Trucks especially. I recently got a 1970 1/2 Ton 2WD long bed. Got it for a little over $1K!

I like pictures of trucks on this website. Here is a photos of my truck in my driveway as it was when I got it home about a month ago.

It had new Idler and Pittman arms on it when I bought it. I replaced tires, front wheel bearings, ball joints, tie rods, and about $200 more worth of stuff I am forgetting. Small stuff too like headlights, headlights screws and door handles. Oh yeah, shocks, brakes, an eaten up upper control arm rod, some gaskets here and there, and got an alignment. Got it about a month ago, it runs great, and post alignment, it drives great. Shocks and new brakes (stayed with drums) so it stops great too. That alignment made a HUGE difference in how it drives. Oh yeah its got a 5.7 L with a big ol edelbrock carb and a TH 400. Leaky exhaust means it is LOUD when I burn up the gas fast!!!

In case you are selling parts I need about one of everything on this truck, but for now it is driving well - it is my daily driver. I have no mechanical experience and no idea what I am doing so every little bit - like this website - helps and motivates me.

Thanks!

Re: Another Hello from Kansas

Thanks everybody

I've been wanting to check out the Chevy Duty store... LMC folks probably know me as the guy who shows up on Saturday morning with a list - but hey it's a store right?

I couldn't have done it without help from a buddy of mine - he tells me "Hit that part with a hammer 'till it comes off" and it's worked so far.
