Re: Anybody use this fitting kit?
That series of Parkerfittings are not DOT approved and are spec'ed for non critical applications.

Re: Anybody use this fitting kit?
The problem is, is if you buy a "kit" of fittings you will more than likely use more than you get or need different degree of fittings.
I would find a truck shop and use fittings like that and buy individual ones to make sure you route them how you want them. just my .02 |

Re: Anybody use this fitting kit?
I would only get the brass fittings from Air Ride Fittings. I like to run ASCO fittings. Napa and Fastenal also carry DOT approved SMC or Parker fittings, I am not sure which one. They keep one in stock, and can order the other.
As for knowing what to buy, I lay everything out where it will be and start thinking. If I want to put this valve here, what fittings do I need to supply air to it. And I work from there.

So if I get brass fittings it does not matter if they are DOT? If I am looking at a online store, or ebay how can I tell if a fitting is DOT?

Re: Anybody use this fitting kit?
The brass DOT rated compression fittings have a slightly different shape to the sleeve to prevent it from cutting into the nylon and all DOT fittings I've seen have inserts which support the ID of the tube. If the fitting is DOT rated it will be stamped I wouldn't use anthing that isn't DOT approved for safety and liability, but thats just my oppinion.

Re: Anybody use this fitting kit?
Yeah that is the reg. Parkers. Thats why we dont offer "fittings kits or packages". We stock alot of different fittings in brass, steel and nickel finish, everybody wants something different, so we put a package together accordingly.

Re: Anybody use this fitting kit?
The brass fittings do not necessarily matter, as far as I know. The ones from NAPA, right next do their DOT compressions, are not stamped like the compressions are, so I am not sure.
As far as buying online and knowing, go through someone you trust I guess. I go directly to the source.

Re: Anybody use this fitting kit?
Ya the ones I use have a ferrule on the inside to guide and support the tube so that it doesn't collapse, and ensures it will seal properly. I've never had an issue since I switched to ASCO fittings. Haven't used much else in the form of DOT fittings though. Like I said when I talked to you, be prepared to drop about $300 or so on fittings.
