Gas Tank for a 47?
I know the original gas tank was behind the seat, I have decided to put mine under the bed but was shocked to look at prices. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Yep, was looking at the S10 blazer series myself... about 75 bux from the local yard and sits nice between the frame rails just above and behind the rear axle. Only thing is... doesn't leave alot of room for the exhaust pipes, thinking I might stick with the stock S10 truck one, just behind/below the cab and beside the frame.

Think most any of the S10 blazers will work... will depend if you are going with a TBI setup or carb as the newer ones will have a fuel pump inside the tank with the sending unit.

Re: Gas Tank for a 47?
Finally, I get to put in my 2 cents. This is why I joined this forum. I wanted a place where I could learn to hot rod my truck and get money saving ideas. Well here it is. I used a Mustang tank readily available on ebay for less than a hundred bucks and it fits between the rear rails. You will spend almost the same mocking up a frame if you don't have some scrap metal to use. Here is a picture of the rear of my truck. I have better photos on another computer but you get the idea. Alot better that the $400 - 500 in the magazines.

Hmmm, now the next issue has been raised. Should I have a fuel pump for the original 216? Also does the fuel sending unit work with any 12 volt gauge? I hate to admit my dumbness here, but the facts are the facts.
