The truck is a 1986 custom deluxe. The body and paint is all original. I bought it at a junkyard two years ago for $600. I built the motor last year.

WOW! That is amazing. Finding a truck in Rhode Island that isn't rusted is one thing. Finding one with show quality paint in a salvage yard is incredible.

You should have played the Lotto that day...

Found it in a junkyard that I visit frequently. The prices at the yard are usually outrageous. For example, a dead 350 out of an 85 truck was $900. Or a pair of rusty fenders was $400. I saw the truck and asked the yard owner how much he wanted for it expecting some outrageous number. He said $600 and I handed him the money right then and there. I got it home understanding that it had a bad 4.3 litre in it. I looked it over and found out that it had new brakes, new tires, had a coat of wax on the paint and there was armor-all on the dash. I can't figure out why the previous owner scrapped it. It cost me $3000 to buy the truck and build the motor for it. In my opinion, it is better than any new truck. The interior is perfect also, there is only one rip in the vinyl floor mat and it is under the floor mats near the gas pedal. There is one crack in the dash also. The truck was a great find
