lowering leafs
Wow, it has been a long time since I have logged on this site. Anyway, I have a 71 GMC swb 2wd and I am looking to replace the leaf springs. I think a 2" drop or 3" drop would be good. Where is a good place to get them? I only know of a few, and I was hoping to spend a little less than their listed price. Thanks.

Re: lowering leafs
Tell us where you have looked so we know where to suggest. I start all my suspension searches at www.summitracing.com as they carry mst popular brands.
I have never bought from them but everyone here praises the quality and prices of ECE so give them a look too.

Re: lowering leafs
I have only looked at Brothers. I have tried Jegs and Summit as well, but they did not have them listed. It seems that they are kind of hard to find for this year, as most are using the coil style rear. Can anyone with a set offer where they got them. I would not be opposed to a stock height set and go from there.
The set that I have on now, is missing one leaf I think and I get really bad wheel hop because of axle wrap. Thanks for your help. Rob Last edited by N2TRUX; 03-29-2009 at 11:25 AM. |

Re: lowering leafs
Yeah, I imagine that might be a little harder to finf. Have you tried GMC Paul? He might be of some help.
BTW- You have to be a subscribing member to make a "wanted to buy" post...

That is a great price. Sorry about the WTB, I didn't realize. It has been a while. Thanks!

Re: lowering leafs
I got mine from brothers. They are a great piece and the price was great. The only prob. was the wait. It took about 3 weeks to get them. I lowered the front at the same time. I spent almost a grand and didn't like to wait after i gave them the money, but, it was well worth it for the fit and finish.
