Which bags would solve this problem??

I have CPP lower arms and i THINK (99% sure)the bags are 2600's, but the O.D. of them is touching the bump stop and tubing. The bag has 2- 1" ports if that helps.

I need a bag that has a smaller I.D. that can handle a big block. A friend is using the exact set up with no rubbing?! I also tried moving the bag around with no luck.

any suggestions from experience?? my buddy VIN63 has the same setup and is using Firestone Air Spring part number 6873 - 8-inch diameter inflated (3150 lbs. @ 100 psi). Is there any others with a smaller I.D.?

1st pic is my truck-1966, 2nd pic is a 72 with same parts,

Looks like your bag is requiring a lot more pressure to lift.

Anyone have any input?

Those are coil spring arms. Not meant for air ride w/o the (lower cups). You can make them work but will need to cut off the stop.If you plan on laying front c-member,you will need some additional trimming ,ball joint angles will be terrible.

Had same arms on my '68.

Re: Which bags would solve this problem??

Dont know if it would work in your situation, but Slam bags dont "grow" in diameter when aired up, so that may help you get your desired O.D.

Past that, could you just cut off you bump stop mount & move it over a inch or so ???

i was interested in the RE-7, for the fact that they are non-ballooning, the ones i have on now are about 7". i know the stats on the RE-6 and i might have to go that route

Re: Which bags would solve this problem??

I would 1st contact CPP and see what they say, or just go with the RE7 or RE6...I had some conti bags that did the same thing on a caddy I had they just ballon too much you need something that keeps its diameter....
BUTTTT personally I would hack off the bump stop...save your $$$ for something else.

Re: Which bags would solve this problem??

you could also try moving the airspring in a little bit on top and bottom mounts to gain clearance. if thats a cheap chinese bag, I would probably look for a replacement for those anyway

Re: Which bags would solve this problem??

Slam bags did the trick for my cadillac. need something smaller that didn't "grow" like my Doms. went with the new SS line and never looked back. my next ride will have Slams on it.
