114 people have viewed this and not one comment. ? I thought we all liked these trucks? I didn't set the price, just thought you guys would like to see one of our trucks restored with no expense spared. The pic of the wood be alone is amazing. Oh well.

It looks fine, but the price is (IMO) absurd. I once knew a guy who wanted to sell his 5 year old Acura Integra. He had washed it every weekend and waxed it once per month. The car was spotless inside and out. His asking price? About 40% more than KBB retail. His rationale? He believed that the car had additional value because of all the regular oil changes, the waxing, and so on. Basically, best I could figure is that he saved all his maintenance receipts and added that to the realistic price of his car to derive his asking price. He never found a buyer... well, that's not exactly correct. A guy t-boned him in an intersection so an insurance company bought it from him... for around KBB price. He was fit to be tied.

</ramble>

The truck here looks good. But just because it cost $35k+ to restore doesn't make it worth $35k. It just doesn't work that way. Havign said that, I wouldn't be at all surprised if somebody ponies up that much for it anyway.

I don't know what kind of shape it was in to start, but pricing aside, I just wish that I could get that much accomplished in a year.

It looks like a sweet truck, but they'll be lucky to sell it at that price.

Just from looking at it, I don't agree with you guys about the price. To me, that truck would be better than a new truck, and have you looked at the price of a new chevy lately? The only complaint I would have about that truck is if i bought it I would be afraid to use it because it is so nice. I would also say it probably has more like 50k than 35k invested in it.

Nice truck, as people keep asking more and more for the trucks no matter what they are worth, Then the overall price of every truck goes up. Ebay has things for sale that are absolute junk but as they ask outragous the prices of everthing goes up. The truck is nice and if he gets the price for it or not it is the value he put on it. The only thing that will stick in peoples mind is that he asked that for it and the next time one goes up for $28000 they will think it is a bargin. Hunker down for the price of yours will go up and parts will follow.JMHO

I agree. The truck is not for me. I made that mistake with my Jimmy, sunk alot of $$ into it making it all original and new, then I didn't want to USE it. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE original, completely restored trucks, it's just not right for me right now. I've got 2 small kids and a wife that require my time and most of my money. I want to drive my truck. That being said, there are people that want a truck like this and are willing to pay. It is better (nicer) than when it rolled off the line. This truck was COMPLETELY disassembled, blasted, painted and reassembled with the best parts available. Even the frame was wet sanded I'm told. I didn't post here trying to SELL the truck, just thought you guys would like to see all the detail and quality of the work. I love to see these kind of trucks even though I could never own one. Sorry for the long post.

sweet truck, i like it. the price isn't at all out of line for a super nice resto. a good friend of mine sold his 72 super short, fleet 4x4 that was a flawless, ground up resto with a few cosmetic mods, for $31,600.00 on ebay a few weeks ago. around here a high end paint job is upwards of 12K depending on body work- thats a take it apart completely and put it back together job, then you still have to do the frame, drivetrain, upholstery, etc.
i'd much rather spend my money on a clean classic than a new P.O.S. wanna be truck, come on guys--rack & pinion steering on a silverado H.D. whats up with that,lol.

all of the above is only my opinion so please don't nail me to a cross for it.

The pics don't do that truck justice. I live in Abilene and have bought a few things from Gary, Great guy by the way...I went there when they were almost finished with it and he let me look at it and boy oh boy that thing is the best 67-72 chevy i have ever seen (except for mine)HEHE. But that price is a little off the wall.

That truck was there along with mine but we didn't win. (don't know why).

I got to agree with Jerry Moss. Real paint jobs are a pain in the ass to do , take for ever to get right, and cost like nothing else on these trucks. There are a lot of pieces to get right when doing a resto correctly and none of them are free. Just my .02

It's a nice-lookin' truck, for sure. The color isn't me, tho. I suppose if it was red, or black, it would have more appeal to me. I feel that is was built to sell, not to drive, or at the least, not to drive by the builders. I can appreciate the amount of work that went into it....knowing that I have that same task in front of me.

My truck was black when it was new...with black cloth interior. It's a '69. I have agonized about what color to paint it....it's got this weird shade of grey primer that my native Buckeye neighbor insists is green. It ain't green. Actually, it approaches the grey-green color of money. Oh, it should. I've been pouring money into it since I bought it three years ago.

The pricing on this truck is at $35K? I told my bride that I'd have as much in my truck as it would cost for a new one. As long as they keep going up (new ones), I'm good for the long haul.

Besides, if you won't drive it, WHY BUILD IT?????

Super nice, a true resto!!!!! True story, I overheard this at the Charlotte this spring. Two guys were at a truck thar was priced for 29,000.00, one said he was gonna get as soon as the wife cashed in some C D'S. So if you got the money I guess its no problem.

$35k seems steep, but I wouldn't put it past people to buy it...as other desirable cars from the late '60s and early '70s get harder to find (F-Bodies, A-Bodies, Chevy IIs, Mustangs, Torinos, Mopars...) people are going to look elsewhere for a "classic". Add to that the fact that trucks are more popular than ever - I believe new trucks are actually outselling new cars these days by a small margin - and a '67-'72 looks pretty desirable to someone who wants to buy a pre-made classic. Nearly as good as a modern truck in nearly every way, with the added bonus of those good looks.

The only downside to it all that I see is that parts will eventually start going up. I think parts right now are more than fairly priced...but if a '67 C10 short/step 2WD, or a loaded '72 Cheyenne Super short/fleet big block become a regular $35k sale, people are going to want to get in on the game to make a bit of cash and they're going to be willing to pay more for parts.

Does it have cruise? Does it have a speed warning? Does it have shoulder seat belts? I imagine it has buckets. Does it have a glove box light?
