Re: zerk fitting for brake master cylinder? (1959)
I have found that a lot of the stuff that the specialty restoration place sell is available right off the shelf or by order at Napa or Ace (hardware) for significanty less. Examples are electrical stuff light light switches and turn signal parts. Standard still makes them. Also brake parts, etc. I once bought some expensive "exact" reproduction bulb sockets for my 64 Chevelle from a well known place. Paid a premium price, like $8-10 each. I put them in and they worked ok for a a couple of years then one shorted out on a road trip. I went into the Schucks store in the next town I went thru and bought a generic replacement off the electrical aisle. It was the same package as the "reproduction" but 1/4 the cost. I replaced it in the parking lot and its still working fine.
