suspension questions
I've had bagged trucks in the past. I don't wish to bagged my c10. What is the lowest that I could possibly go? I also want disc brakes on all four corners. Should I go with a bigger rotor and caliper? I'm running a 20x8 in front and 20x10 maybe 12 depending on motor/rear end situation. I plan on running a LS1 motor. Would that effect how low I can go?

In my opinion...
If you are wanting to run a larger dia. wheel (20" as you mentioned), I don't think you will be able to go any lower than a 4.5/6" drop without running into issues with turning radius up front. This will allow adequate room for turning and also allow you to retain the inner fenders and no major modification. You can run a bolt in c-notch if you need the extra room in the rear but it is not required. Now if you would want to go all out there's z-ing a frame but it doesn't sound like you want to go that far into the project. And as far as I know changing to an LS motor will not affect how low you can go. If you have the money, upgrading the brakes would be nice, but not required. As long as the brake system is fully operational, you shouldn't run into any issues with running a stock brake setup with a larger dia. wheel/tire combo. One thing you will need to take into consideration is the 6 lug to 5 lug swap and also the rearend difference as well. IIRC the 67-70 (early) models had a narrower rearend than the 70 (late)-72 rearends. This will affect your backspacing, so if it were me, I would have the suspension set and then measure for the wheel setup. Just my $.02... but I hope this helps.

I'm at 5.5'' in front with a 26'' tire...static drop. I think I figured up that if I was running 20's I would have to run a 245/35/20 for my 64. Im not sure about clearance on the later trucks.
The kit you linked would do the job...just specify a 2'' or 3'' spring in front.

I would recommend Early Classic Enterprises (ECE). They offer some of the best products and customer service that is next to none.
I haven't personally ordered from CPP but if you check out the review section of the board several board members have ran into difficulties with them. Also... depending on the brake setup you want to run, you could technically run a manual disc-drum (if wanting to save money) and still run 20's. And, depending on the wheels you choose you might even be able to stick with the 6-lug setup. Just my $.02... (again)

Right on Shane... about the supporting vendors, always check there first. IIRC, several of the board vendors even supply ECE products.

Remember, w/a 20" front wheel, you're likely going to be @ 27.75" minimum w/any decent sidewall (that's a 245-40-20 min). So a 4/6 static drop will work just fine. I do feel the 12" stock rotor looks small vs. the window of a 20" wheel so stepping up is a good idea mechanically & asthetically. The rear drums are already about 13" OD so they don't look 'lost' & can be left as is to help the budget. If there's room in the budget for matching 13" rears, do it.
As mentioned, our board supporting vendors do deserve our business if/when possible.
