muffler help!
i installed long tubes on my 350 and i need to know what size muffler off set do i need i have a 1982 sierra i want to run 2.5 pipes dumped but i was confused on the inlet and outlet info on a muffler.Thanks

The inlet and outlet info is the size of the inlet or outlet in inches and the location ie: center or offset. if you want to run 2.5" pipes you need a 2.5" inlet/outlet muffler. as for the location you need to look at your truck, off the headers your gonna have to mount a reducer down to 2.5" ten run the pipe to where you want the mufflers. then if you have the room just run a center/center muffler and put some turn downs on it for the "dumped" effect. if you have limited space you may have to run some offset mufflers. if you look in a summit magazine or on flowmaster's web site, they usually have pictures of what the offsets mean.

Our trucks have plenty of room for centered mufflers. I have longtubes, an X-pipe and two Magnaflows and mucho room to spare.
