3 link with conventional springs

i am getting ready to do a rear suspension and wanting to use conventional springs. the truck wont have truck arms or leafs. the springs will sit behind the rearend housing and be mounted on the lower side of the axle tubes.
was wondering if anyone has seen or done this or what your take is on this.

wanting to try it. because this is the way the racecars i drive are set up and they get awesome traction.

chime in and let me know.

Could you be more specific on what year truck you are talking about? I will assume that your discussing the 66 SWB project you have in your sig but want to be certain.

Re: 3 link with conventional springs

Sorry about that. No. it is not the 66 swb. it is a 68 swb, with leaf springs. want to get rid of leafs. would put a 4 link with coilovers but i can get 2 springs and 2 shocks for less than half of 1 coilover kit. using conventional 5 inch rear springs. these wont be lowering springs. these will be racing springs.
i think 200 lb springs would work, just got to figure the compression and rebound of shocks i want to use.
