Back of hood won't close
The hood on my 56 will not go down all the way unless I push it down. I replaced the springs and made new pivot pins from bronze with nylon washers. Lubed everything but still won't close. I might need to put a foward tilt mount on. Anyone have one on, how close are the hood to fender and cowl gaps, and are they adjustable? All my gaps are tight and I don't want my hood to raise up while driving!

Re: Back of hood won't close
This was discussed a while back. First thing is to lower the hinges. If that does not work and memory serves me well you then need to make sure the cab is level with the front clip (cab needs tilted front to rear). There is also a thread on hood alignment in the FAQ section and thread.
