Re: Firewall pad install trouble
I agree it's a PITA. Just go slow, and if you need to, back off and chill awhile, then go back to it. Just bend along the pre-made seams to match the contours of the firewall. If you need to, check out some fo the members interior shots, to see which way the bends need to be. It took me a few trys before i got it just right.

Re: Firewall pad install trouble
I ended up throwing my POS away, and used butyl mat with foil-faced jute pad. Covered the entire floor & firewall with one piece of Ozite carpet.(64 Suburban) Looks better, and does a much better job of stopping heat and sound.

Re: Firewall pad install trouble
Well I did unbolt everything except the gas pedal, and I guess that is one of the PITA items. I am going to try again tonite to get the rest of the fastners in and staighten it out. I guess having rammat, and exsolite down doesn't help the fittment...

Re: Firewall pad install trouble
I used several screwdrivers stuck in different holes to help get where it needed to go, then put in the plastic drive-in fasteners. I didn't drive them home all the way, until i was sure of the fit.
