U joint selection help.
I have the stock 12 bolt rearend and one piece driveshaft in my 63. My trans is a 700r4 from a 85 chevy..
My truck came with a 283 and auto trans from the factory.. Need some help ordering up some U joints. I dont have the truck here with me to compare the old ones side by side... Rear - 1350? Trans - 1350 or 1310/1350 conversion joint? am I close?? thanks for the help! Last edited by Bazooka; 06-11-2009 at 06:42 PM. |

Re: U joint selection help.
Okay... With a little investigating I have cleared things up a little..
Rear - 1310 Front - 1310(63 driveshaft)/1344 or 1350 (85 700r4) the stock tranny yoke from my 63 wouldn't work with the 85 700r4 right? |

Re: U joint selection help.
Forget the post #2 above. This below makes more sense. the board needs to give us more time to edit our posts..
Rear Differential - 1310 Trans - Conversion joint. 1310(63 driveshaft) and 1344 or 1350 (85 700r4) the stock tranny yoke from my 63 wouldn't work with the 85 700r4 right? just making sure |

Re: U joint selection help.
Stock tranny yoke will work if its a TH350 or PG. TH400 had different splines and wont interchange.

Re: U joint selection help.
If you go to the spincer u-joint site
http://www2.dana.com/expertforms/depdf.aspx?prod=JOI and down load pdf catalog K350-1-DSSP u-joint kits. look at pages 585 and 586 OSR/ISR (inside and outside snap rings). I just printed the pages 585 ans 586. You can identify the u-joint you need. I just did this on a mid 70's 12bolt rearend swap in a 1985 c10 and a 700r4. our rear u-joint was a spincer p/n 5-3022x . Follow the diagram and measure. Good luck Popy |

Re: U joint selection help.
Almost forgot. You will still need a yoke from a 700r4. There is no vent hole looking thru the spline center. Sorry tired termanology all shot out.
