I cant believe I'm finally posting on this site!

After many years of looking and convincing the boss(wife), I finally found and bought my project truck. My plan is a total resto which was going to start as soon as I brought her home. But I'm loving it to much right now to start tearing her apart. LOL I'll start next year.
Its a 76 C10. Trucks not pretty but shes loud and fast. The best part.......it has an old caddy 472 big block under the hood. Very minimal rust, only thing I see so far are the floor pans. Needs a new hood and front fenders. The frame looks better than my 06.LOL

Couple pics...

Thanks guys. The 472 is a BEAST for sure. I'm wondering how long this 10 bolt is going to stay intact. LOL

It should have a 12 bolt in it. Tires are too wide and bald, no wonder he wrecked it.

Re: I cant believe I'm finally posting on this site!

I'll snap some pics of the big ugly 472 for you guys in a few. Its poring out right now.

The motor was taken out of a 1970 caddy. I'm not positive but it sounds like the cam has been swapped out. The tranny is a TH400. Rearend is unfortunately a 10 bolt 2.73.

Thanks for all the compliments guys.

Oh ya, the hitch came off yesterday.

Re: I cant believe I'm finally posting on this site!

Looks like a great truck, and welcome to the boards. Those door panels turned out great. It's little things here and there that will make a huge difference in the truck. Keep it up, and keep us updated.

Re: I cant believe I'm finally posting on this site!

Welcome to the board! Have fun with that caddy powerplant. I'm currently building a 500 for my '86. Do you know what year your motor is? Do you have pics of the engine? Is it stock? There is a ton of parts available for these engines now. These motors are torque monsters! 500 ft/lbs is easily achievable with minor mods. There pretty lightweight too. It's lighter than a BBC, if you swap in an aluminum intake, you're only about 60lbs heavier than a small-block. It's good to see someone on here runnin cad power.
