New to the square body club!
I just picked up this 81 swb truck today. Runs good and doesn't have much rust. Looks like just the cab corners, the rockers are solid. Don't care for the sunroof much but I'll live with it. Doesn't have a/c but I have an 87 parts truck with the whole setup that shouldn't be too hard to change over sometime. Here are some quick pics I took.

Re: New to the square body club!
I think I did alright on the price too...$1000 for a good running swb I just couldn't pass on it even though I don't need it.

Re: New to the square body club!
My plans are to keep it a driver and do things here and there to it. I'm going to get the a/c setup and probably change over the front clip from an 87. I am starting collision repair school in about a month so hopefully I'll be able to do some things to it in the shop.
Here is a link to the 87 I got for free that I am going to use for parts. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=249799 |

Re: New to the square body club!
I switched the front clip from the 87 but want to keep the 81 grill. I am also switching the bumper. I was just going to put the turn signals from the 87 tube grill behind the 81 grill but there isn't enough room between the grill and core support. Any ideas on what to get to make it work?

Re: New to the square body club!
Not sure about the turn signals. Where is the collision repair school in your area?

Re: New to the square body club!
Wichita Area Technical College. I am currently laid off from Cessna and there is a program that is paying for the school so I shouldn't have to have any out of pocket expense! I start August 17th and hopefully we'll be able to bring some of our stuff in to work on.
